About
“Bitcoin is the only truly censorship-resistant money that there is right now [...] If we don't preserve peer-to-peer digital cash right now, it's a right we're going to lose and we're going to lose forever.”
Hi, I'm Jack.
I've used Cash App on and off over the past several years, alongside bank accounts and other financial apps like Venmo and Strike.
After watching a recent talk by Block’s Product Lead, I started thinking more seriously about the urgency of preserving peer-to-peer digital cash for human freedom all around the world.
This project is my attempt to move as much of my everyday financial life as possible onto Block's ecosystem, using Bitcoin wherever I can. I'll document the process openly - wins, friction, and everything in between - so others can see what works and what still needs to improve.
Community participation is optional, but I hope sharing this publicly encourages others to post their own Block ecosystem experiences with #livingOnBlock to share any stories, wins, and gaps as we ultimately push Bitcoin toward everyday use.
Why Bitcoin and Block? Preserving peer-to-peer digital cash is critical for human freedom, and Bitcoin is the strongest foundation we have for it today. Block is one of the few ecosystems trying to connect spending, saving, self-custody, merchant acceptance, and open-source Bitcoin infrastructure in one place. For nearly a decade, Block has been Bitcoin-focused, community-first, and building out in the open.
I'm not affiliated with Block in any way - this is just my personal project.
See you in July...
